About Boulder City
At about 26 miles southeast of Las Vegas, Boulder City has a population of around 16,000 residents. Getting its name from Boulder Canyon, Boulder City was originally founded in 1931 as housing for the men and women who were building the Hoover Dam. Boulder City is one of the only two cities in Nevada that prohibits gambling. Boulder City Municipal Airport is located here and is Nevada’s first airport still in operation today. Boulder City has about 208 square miles of land making it Nevada’s largest city by land measurement.
